W40k Fanart...

Forgeworld product pics used as ref...

"The Avenger is a dedicated strike fighter, intended to conduct high-speed, low-level attacks on ground targets, with armoured vehicle formations and high-value strategic assets such as munitions dumps forming its principal prey. The Avenger Strike Fighter boasts firepower that exceeds most other Imperial aircraft of its size, and its particular reputation as a tank-killer is due to the Avenger bolt cannon it carries."

Hey man, This is perfect.
I am a dubstep producer and was looking for some art to promote my music. I made a song called "Strafe" and this picture came closest to what I was looking for. Is it ok if I use this art? I will put a link to your deviant art page or website on anywhere this image is used I.E. Youtube, Beatport, Facebook etc. If you want ill send you the song so yo can check if its worthy of me using your art or not. hehe

Another incredible example of "Prospective Military Art"... makes me sad for spending money on yet another Don Stiver's Print!

It's a good thing the Avenger is so common.  Fluff says it is the most common close air support vehicle available to the Guard.  Makes sense, seeing as the Guard relies a lot on armor support, so having a bunch of Avengers around removes most threats to the Guard's mass tanks.

I love the Imperium of Man. I love the A-10 Warthog.

How could I not love their love-child, the Avenger?

An awesome picture. I would have liked to have seen more emphasis on some of the exhaust, or condensation trails from the wing-tips - just something to emphasize the awesome speed at which the event is occurring, especially because the two Imperial airframes at the foreground seem to have just crossed flight-paths in what must have been a highly dangerous and dramatic manoeuvre and I feel this isn't emphasized in the set-up as-is.

But lovely work, despite my nit-picking.

Thx for your thoughts...nit-picking is a hard word, I like to discuss such things...

I tend to "freeze" fast scenes/events to conserve details like weapon SFX, debris from explosion, projectiles flying etc.

Wingtip vortices and exhaust trails are mostly visible in higher, cooler air or humid climate, assuming they are flying above some desert planet (the paintjobs suggest it) in low altitude (Avengers firing air to ground weapons) it's most likely these effects are non visible...

But despite the details, as you wrote you imagined the speed and drama happening in the scene quite well, thats exactly what I hope to achieve with my work...win-win... :)
