One thing, the lead solider is holding an M4. When did the M4 folding stock enter service? Last i checked it was after Nam. But if this is a painting based on reenactment then so be it.

It should be the CAR-15 Commando (XM177/GAU-5 series), ( [link] ) if I remember right...issued in 1966...it comes with a two-position retractable stock...

Ok then. But the rifle has a stock like a M4. [link]

There are similarities. But I will trust you.

yeah its clear that its car-15 / XM-177 / M-4 which are basically the same... short version of M-16. But my point was not about detail, just the forearm part of this weapon looks strange. almost like triangular shape of M-16 a1 but upside down... anyway this is irrelevant detail :) almost not worth mentioning...

Nice! Great picture.I like the idea of it, colours you used adds photographic feeling and you also have correct mterials. Too bad that the gun is not correct and its just some attack rifle instead M-4 or 16

The gun is a CAR-15, its not that detailled but you can tell by the long flashhider, it was used in Nam and is AR-15/M16 based...

Great detail, I like the fact that it's actually tactically accurate, covered retreat. I always enjoy you're work.
